Field Status

Recent weather created challenging conditions for aircraft camping and parking areas. All aircraft camping and parking areas are temporarily closed. Ground operations are limited to hard surfaces only. Modified parking procedures are in effect to accommodate arriving aircraft. Aircraft are restricted to hard surfaces, some positioned in temporary locations to be relocated later to preferred areas once on-field parking and camping areas.

EAA volunteers are working in every aircraft camping/parking area to prepare the grounds for anticipated traffic once ground conditions improve. As always, pilots should use extra caution when taxiing off paved surfaces (if permitted) and should avoid areas marked with cones. Carefully follow directions from ATC Ground Control and ground volunteers.

While the weather has been generally improving, field conditions will be continually evaluated to determine what areas can be opened. Watch for updates on this site.

Temporary options for additional hard surface parking include Appleton/Outagamie Regional Airport (ATW) and Fond du Lac (FLD). There is also aircraft camping available at Fond du Lac. There is no aircraft camping available at Appleton. Additional buses will be added to shuttle people from both airports to Oshkosh.

Showplane Areas

Showplane camping and parking areas are temporarily closed, but will open as weather and ground conditions improve. These areas accommodate:
- Experimental aircraft (homebuilts)
- Vintage Aircraft (manufactured prior to 1971)
- Warbirds
- Seaplanes
- Rotorcraft
- Ultralights

The current expectation is that the first area to open will be homebuilts, later by Vintage. When these areas open, modified parking procedures will be in effect to best protect aircraft and grounds.

General Aviation Areas

The General Aviation Camping and Parking Areas at Oshkosh are closed to new arrivals due to ground conditions. Aircraft requiring camping are being accommodated in Fond du Lac.

Twin-engine aircraft can be accommodated by the FBOs at Wittman Regional Airport and at Appleton (ATW).

Tips for all arriving pilots

Have the latest NOTAM and ATIS information from Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) prior to your arrival. Be sure to have a copy of the 2010 AirVenture NOTAM with you when you arrive.

Note new arrival ATIS frequency: 125.9.

The parking status information from this page is also available via a recorded telephone message at 920-230-7820.
